THE summer sporting landscape is so crowded the fans can’t see the golf woods from the trees.
As a kid growing up in country WA, it was beautifully simple. I played footy (Aussie rules) in winter and cricket and tennis in summer.
It wasn’t until I arrived in the big city in the ’80s and boarded at Guildford Grammar that I was exposed to soccer, rugby and basketball.
