Golf's buzzer-beater: Should a shot clock be introduced to the professional game?

In an era where the 20-over game is going gangbusters in cricket, netball continues to experiment with a shortened form of the game and tennis has dabbled with a “Fast4” format and an on-court shot clock, the challenge is on for sports administrators to keep fans engaged.

The battle is no different for golf, regardless of whether you’re attracted to the little white ball as a recreational pursuit, or take more than a passing interest in goings on in the professional game.
