Cape Town – Jamie Donaldson started 2018 the best way possible by hitting an ace at the South African Open at Glendower Golf Club on Thursday.
Using a 9-iron, the Welshman aced the par-3, 14th hole in the opening round of the tournament, hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni.
The 42-year-old broke a eight European Tour tournament hole-in-one drought and sadly, no prize was involved.
He carded a first round of two-under-par 70 in Johannesburg, five shots behind leaders Chase Koepka and Branden Grace.
