Tiger Woods WILL play The Open: Three-time champion set for Carnoustie

Woods first won The Open back in 2000 at St Andrews before repeating the feat five years later at the same venue.

The American then went on to defend his title at Royal Liverpool but could not make it three in a row 12 months later when the competition returned to this year’s venue, Carnoustie.

Woods could only finish 12th at the notoriously brutal Scottish course and has not won the tournament since, a run he will be desperate to end this time around.
